Songman Entertainment was established in the treasure valley in 1997 but actually goes as far back as 1987.
We are available for weddings, receptions, private / holiday parties, corporate affairs, anniversaries, benefits, restaurants and lounges.
About your hosts:
Steven “Songman” Crist
Steve is originally from Indiana and has entertained audiences all over the country since the age of three. He started as the “novelty” act in his mother’s band crooning songs like “Rockin’ Robin”, “Blue Suede Shoes”, “Dream Lover”, and other big hits of the 50′s and 60′s. He was the front man of a country and rock band by the age of 13 with the other band members all over the age of 30. During high school while the other guys were dreaming about cars Steve was dreaming about a music career. He entertained at local VFW’s, Eagle’s, Moose, and Elk’s lodges, along with the American Legion, county and state fairs. As an adult he has opened shows and worked with major recording artists, and won many vocal competitions. Steve added the disc jockey service to his repertoire in 1987 and karaoke in 1995.
Steve, along with his wife Sheila, also own a maintenance and repair company called “The Maintenance Shop” which handles all phases of building repair for private homes, management companies and realtors. Visit treasurevalleyrepairs for more information.
Sheila Crist
Sheila is an Idaho native, and her love of music led her to Steve while searching on the Internet for someone to share her musical interests. They were married in August of 1997 and sang the Tim McGraw / Faith Hill duet, “It’s Your Love” to each other at the wedding. They also provided the music for the occasion as well. Sheila has a natural way with harmonies and can blend well with whomever she sings with. She can hold her own as a soloist as well although it was no easy matter convincing Sheila to sing a solo in public. “I sing at church and for my babies”, she said. After a lot of prodding Steve was able to get her to sing professionally and now he can’t shut her up. She has a wonderful singing voice and has been compared to Karen Carpenter and even Anne Murray!
