Steven "Songman" Crist has been entertaining audiences since the age of 3 singing in his mother’s band as the "novelty" act. He picked up a guitar for the first time when he was 7 years old and started teaching himself to play. He quit a year later losing interest; he just wanted to sing. At the age of 12 he picked it up again and has continued on for 33 years. He won his first singing contest at the age of 14 imitating Elvis Presley singing "In The Ghetto" while accompanying himself on the guitar. Steve has won several vocal competitions over the years and has opened shows for major recording artists at State and county fairs. His guitar influences are James Taylor, Jim Croce, and Dan Fogelberg which shows in his playing style. His vocal influences are Elvis Presley, B.J. Thomas, and Kenny Rogers, respectively.
Steve has done as little as sing a song for the bride as she is going down the aisle to as much as an entire reception singing and playing his guitar.
